A British Army social media star, an ex-England rugby international and a member of TikTok’s global security team will climb Ireland’s highest mountain 3 times in 15 hours to raise money for Rock 2 Recovery.
Natalya Platonova, a British Army soldier and the winner of Channel 4 social networking show, The Circle, will join ex-England rugby international Paul Sampson and TikTok global security lead Mike Whelan in climbing Carrauntoohil, in Co Kerry, three times in 15 hours on June 30th, 2022.
Natalya is a serving soldier and following her time on The Circle, talked openly about her struggles with depression and anxiety. She recently walked 185km from Oxford to Buckingham Palace attached to a medicine ball in aid of Mental Health Awareness Week, raising £10,000.
Paul is a former England international rugby player who is now a mental health coach for Rock2Recovery and also supports sportsmen, sportswomen and private individuals in their mental human performance. Paul is no stranger to challenges for charity having cycled 1700 miles in 17 days from Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford to the top of the Rock of Gibraltar.
Mike spent eight years working for UK special operations and was supported by Rock 2 Recovery following his departure. He now works for TikTok in Dublin.
The team are currently training for the event and have a TikTok and Instagram page where they will be sharing their progress online and even live-streaming parts of the climb on the day.
