'After the tragic loss of my son last year, the support from all his friends and Royal Marine family have helped me come to terms with my loss. Nothing can replace my son, I just want to feel that I can support someone else to escape their inner demons. I was exceedingly close to my son, he could talk to me about anything and often did. This wasn’t his first attempt but unfortunately for me this attempt was successful.
Last year Jack Elliott completed a challenge of running 177 miles (the distance from his home to Sam’s) in order to raise funds for Rock 2 Recovery in Sams memory.
This year I have decided to take on my own challenge, but luckily for me I only live 2 miles from Sam!
I’m going to swim the 2miles for rock2recovery (that’s 128 lengths of the pool). I’m in training and depending on how well it goes I will either JUST do the 2 miles on Saturday 30th April or if training goes better than I expect then I will swim the 2 miles every day as Jack is running to help support him😀
